The Old Dominion Chapter of the Verizon Pioneers is composed of  active and retired employees dedicated to helping those in need.  We are located in the State of Virginia.  Our volunteer activities focus on many different arenas with literacy and domestic violence as our main emphasis.  We have distributed thousands of dictionaries to 3^rd graders all across the state.  Our efforts ensure that  the youth of our region are better equipped to lead productive, successful lives.  We also participate in several domestic violence   projects, with two of our most successful ones being the Hopeline cell phone collection project and the Shower for Shelters to supply goods for Domestic Violence Shelters
